As mentioned last week, we’re back with another From the Farm edition of Restaurant Dropout…
Don’t worry, we have some fun menus in store for the next few weeks (including another Asian-inspired menu)!!!
I’m about 2 weeks away from my bachelorette party and 11 weeks away from my wedding, so time has decided to put its foot on the gas pedal and speed up (it’s always the periods you wish for time to move slower, that it somehow moves faster).
No one asked, but I thought it would be fun to do a little debrief of what’s getting done at the 11-week mark of wedding planning:
Invitations: Apparently it’s a standard practice to send out wedding invites 6-8 weeks before the wedding (this sounds wildly late to me), so I have those coming in today and I’ll likely get them sent out early next week. I ordered my invitations from this shop on Etsy (they arrive today and I am eager to see how they turned out…based on the pictures she sent of the finished product, I love them!!!).
Signage: I purchased a bunch of discounted picture frames that I could repurpose in my home after the wedding and am printing out all of my signs on cardstock (pictured below). I also purchased a few signs from this shop on Etsy - they felt most fitting for a wedding on an almond farm.
Bachelorette Itinerary: While the MOH and/or close friends are typically supposed to plan a bachelorette party, I couldn’t help but take on the more time-consuming tasks because I felt horrible putting that on my dear friend and MOH (she’s currently in dental school). It’s a lot!!!!! We’re going to Lake Tahoe (one of my favorite places in the US) and since I’m more familiar with the area, I did most of the planning - we’re doing a little bit of everything (river rafting, horseback riding, vegging on the beach, etc).
If anyone has any fun game suggestions for 6+ people, please let me know!!
Dress Alterations: Designer things aren’t really my thing, so my dress was not a priority in the budget. I found a decently priced dress in the under $1000 category on Luxe Redux Bridal and I absolutely love it!!! However, it was a bit too long, so I took it to Carole Kenney Design to have it altered - she’s fabulous.
Florals: I’m meeting with Flower Moxie tonight to figure out my DIY flower package. All I know is I want the most prevalent flower to be chamomile daisies - I just love them so much!!!
Cake Plan: If you’ve been following me since January, you might know that I plan to take on the tall task of baking our wedding cake. While I already know the kind of cake (almond) and frosting (grand marnier italian meringue buttercream), I’m still figuring out the style. I was originally planning on making a classic multi-tier cake, but then I saw one picture of a wedding sheet cake and I’m obsessed.
Alright enough wedding chatter, let’s get back to what you’re really here for (food)…
