This past weekend I was OOK (out of kitchen) for my bachelorette party, and in preparation for what would be a busier week, I wanted to create a menu highlighting the idea that less is more.
I didn’t want to make more than 5 sauces, I didn’t want to prep an overwhelming quantity of produce (I’m looking at you 12 cloves of garlic), and I certainly didn’t want anything to feel too complicated.
However, I still wanted each meal to be something to look forward to.
By the way, I apologize for sending this out fashionably late - I tried my very best to have everything primed and prepped in advance but fell short in the video editing department.
We’ll return to our regularly scheduled programming this Friday.

Unlike previous weeks, I’m including part of the cost of protein (the Italian sausage), since it’s somewhat of an essential ingredient in the 2 dishes it’s featured in.
I also used several ingredients I already had on hand (including the cabbage from last week). Plus, I already had some ingredients I purchased in bulk, like parmigiano reggiano, sourced from Costco (per usual).
It should also be mentioned that I took a trip to my favorite grocery store in Sacramento, which happens to be higher priced. I like to think of it as an inspiration tax.
