October and November were such a whirlwind, let me tell ya.
Between post-wedding burnout, launching The Dessert Menu, taking on Thanksgiving dinner solo, and trying my best to stay consistent with social media to prevent stalling…it was a lot.
One week of Restaurant Dropout is quite a production.
To paint a picture of what happens behind the scenes each week, I’m creating recipes, developing them (which means sometimes making chili 3-4x in 2 days), and then we’re writing, filming, and editing the aforementioned recipes.
On top of that, to keep Restaurant Dropout operating smoothly, we have to continue producing engaging social media content while simultaneously doing a week’s worth of Restaurant Dropout-related work to avoid falling flat (a lesson I learned this past summer), especially since I do not have a relatively large social media audience.
Admittingly, I realize that, like Thanksgiving dinner, I get a bit overzealous, tend to put way too much on my plate, and sometimes, I fall short. Going into the new year, I’m working on being more realistic with my expectations and my workload.
All that said, I want to make it very clear that I am so thankful for each and every one of you joining me on the rollercoaster that is my first year of Restaurant Dropout.
Since launching in March 2024 (i.e., in just 38 weeks), I’ve shared just about 300 recipes—2 to 3x more than most cookbooks—including almost 150 full-meal recipes, all of which are always available to paid subscribers below:

We’re brainstorming ways to make this perpetually sustainable, which means some tweaks to this concept will arrive in the first week of January 2025 to *hopefully* ensure I don’t overwork myself again…or, even better, give myself time off to go on the honeymoon we put off.
Don’t worry, though; Restaurant Dropout's price will stay the same, ensuring that it remains affordable and accessible to all. More details on that will come later this month.
In the meantime, we have a month of holiday-themed dishes and a few of my favorite desserts coming your way—let’s dive into it.
So…What is Dish-Mas?
25 holiday-themed dishes for December—holiday themes include cozy stews, family-style meals, and comforting dishes typically served during this time of year.
Per standard protocol, I will still be putting together 5 delicious meals to create weekly menus, but I’ll also be sharing some bonus recipes, like easy breakfasts and fun appetizers/sides—‘tis the season for family-style dinners, but more importantly, meals that warm your soul.
A Holiday Discount
From now ‘til December 25th, I’m offering Restaurant Dropout subscriptions for 20% off—if you plan on gifting a subscription for the holidays or finally jumping on the Restaurant Dropout train for the start of the new year, now’s the time.
