Zoe 🥹 barbies and American girl dolls… obsessed with baking and cooking!? You are a girl after my own heart. My first obsession was realizing you could make whatever you wanted if you just followed a recipe! I want to say biscuits in an American girl period cookbook started a long standing love affair with creating food 🫶🏻 love this new menu. Thank you

Just made this and currently eating my third square…my goodness…I used a gala apple so I peeled it first (wasn’t sure if the skin would bake well), then thinly sliced the apples and did a rough chop. This is superb and autumn perfection!

Any chance you could post a pic of what the chopped up apples look like? I got the thinly sliced part, but the triangles had me scratching my head. I know what a triangle is, but are we talking isosceles? Equilateral? Would rectangles or squares really mess it up? I just did my best, and it was delicious. I appreciate that the serving-size squares are petite, just right with a cup of tea or after lunch.

Zoe, a few questions:

Apple- peeled or unpeeled..?

Apple Cider Vinegar- Reduced..?🤔please define.

Brown Sugar- light or dark(which is best for flavor on this recipe) and

Do we pack down the brown sugar for measurement…?

I told u i had a few questions 😬

Thank you & CONGRATULATIONS on getting Married!!

I think the reduction of apple cider is include in the recipe steps (boil & cook until 3 tablespoons of liquid remain.)

Lol…. Apparently my reading is not very good. I was thinking apple cider vinegar and we are using apple cider. Oh my goodness.🤦🏻‍♀️

I'm excited for this addition! I've never done much baking but will be fun to dip my toe.

Where I live the only apple cider is alcoholic, would that work or would it be better to use a high quality apple juice?

I feel like I always see apple cider in big grocery stores around this time of year but in the TikTok she made, she realized she accidentally bought apple juice and not cider and just added some extra spices.

I'm in England, I'm pretty sure it doesn't exist here (though we have lots of alcoholic cider!) I did and up using apple juice and I ended up adding more to reduce down so it was more concentrated. It was delicious

Ah that makes more sense! I didn't realize apple cider is a uniquely American thing!

I’m so excited!! Do you think these would be okay in the freezer?

I came to ask about storage in general (how long do they last, fridge? room temp?) but would love to know this too.

This looks fantastic! For the oats, does it matter what kind of oats (quick cooking versus old fashioned)?

I used old fashion, but tbh either will work fine! Quick oats might have a softer texture, since they’re not as thick, but they’ll taste the same ☺️

This was so, so good! Worth the time to reduce the cider and browning the butter. This cake is PERFECT and addictive
