We’re officially halfway through the year and nearing the first day of summer and all I have to say is time needs to take its foot off the gas pedal and slow down.
Since starting Restaurant Dropout, I feel like my weeks have been flying by at 2x the standard pace…as they say, time flies when you’re having fun!
Although the past 14 weeks of routinely assembling menus for Restaurant Dropout have been thrilling and personally fulfilling, I’ve recently been itching to amp things up even more for all of you to make your subscription and time much more worth it.
That said, while I have our menu ready to roll (BTW it’s my ideal start-of-summer lineup!!!!), I am taking the next week to get everything gathered and in one place so you don’t have to “work a week behind”.
That means, pictures & detailed instructional videos will already be taken, edited & embedded (paid subs will see everything first!!!) AND the full-meal recipes will be written and ready to go upon sending.
More importantly…I now have an interim editor who will be cooking through everything ahead of menu launches, while helping me find typos and written brainfarts, because while I do my best to proofread everything 3-4 times through, mistakes still happen!!!
While nothing will ever be perfect (I am human), I care about making Restaurant Dropout the best it can be with the resources I’ve got. So get ready, because we’re just getting started!!!!
While I take this next week to edit & document next week’s menu, you can find all of our previous menus and dishes here waiting to be cooked. It’ll look something like this…
A Menu for Warmer Days (Week 4)
Soy-Ginger Salmon with Coconut Rice
Herbed Buttermilk-Brined Chicken with Spring Barley
Blackened Shrimp Tacos with Elote Pico
Southwest Salad with Cotija Cutlets
Chimichurri Steak Kebabs with Corn Barley
Spring Eats (Week 5)
Fajita Tacos
Pesto Butter Salmon with Herbed Quinoa Salad
Chicken Tinga Tortas
Burrito Bowls
Spring Panzanella with Honey Mustard Chicken Skewers
Indulging in a Week of Comfort Foods (Week 6)
Balsamic Chicken Skewers with Tomato Garlic Couscous
BBQ Chicken Flatbread
Seared Salmon with Basil Couscous
BBQ Chicken Sandwiches with Crispy Potatoes
Garlic Butter Shrimp with Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes
This way, if you want to continue with your structured, ingredient-prepped dinners next week, you have 12 menus to pick from! All menus, prep lists, and recipes are linked and readily available to go back to and cook.
On another note, here’s a list of things coming soon to future installments of Restaurant Dropout…
Restaurant Dropout: Holiday Edition
June 28th will be our first holiday edition with a 4th of July Edition!!! I have some tasty & exciting side dishes (which are really the star of the show during holidays IMO) and a long-awaited dessert coming your way
A Desserts Add-on
I'm still working on details for this, but I plan to share desserts you can prep ahead of time and bake throughout the week (like cookies) as well as quick-and-easy desserts (the not-so-quick-and-easy desserts will be reserved for holiday editions!!)
The Family Meal
I have some exciting farm content coming soon (!!!), where I’ll be cooking farm-to-table dishes that have nothing to do with ingredient prep and this is where those 1 off recipes will live for now.
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend. I’ll see you next week with our RD glow-up.
Ciao for now!
Xo,
Zoe
Love ALL of this! This is seriously the most exciting club of my adult life 🤣
We are spending next week in a VRBO with extended family and while I don't want to cook all the time, eating out every meal isn't for us either. So, my plan is to pick a menu, pack my shelf stable ingredients and essentials and shop for the fresh stuff when we arrive. Can't wait to wow my family with these meals. Now which week to choose?
